Ski Resorts News
From the coming winter sports season, the largest four ski resorts in Switzerland are pulling together. The Jungfrau Ski region, Adelboden-Lenk, Meiringen-Hasliberg and Gstaad are launching a joint season subscription. For CHF 666 in advance, you will get free travel on 666 km of slopes in the Bernese Oberland.
Visitors will no longer have to decide next winter where they want to spend their ski holidays or winter sports days. With the new season subscription, snow paradise from Meiringen-Hasliberg via the Jungfrau Ski region and Adelboden-Lenk to Gstaad is opening for winter sports enthusiasts. With a total of 666 km of slopes, the four largest skiing destinations of the Bernese Oberland are joining forces on the market.
CHF 1 per km of slope
The new season subscription will be launched in early September 2017 with a pre-sale discount. Between 1 September and 15 December 2017, the new sports pass is available for CHF 666 (CHF 333 for children, CHF 499 for youths). That works out at a maximum of CHF 1 per kilometre. From 16 December, the sport pass is available for CHF 950 (CHF 475 for children, CHF 710 for youths). In future, the same sport pass is valid from the eastern to the western Bernese Oberland. The catchment area of the participating destinations is thus increasing in size and the sport pass also appeals to winter sports enthusiasts beyond the cantonal borders. While the mountain railways in Meiringen-Hasliberg have become the gateway for Zurich and central Switzerland, Gstaad offers easy access to western Switzerland.
Staying overnight at half price
With the new sport pass, the goal is to attract more tourists. In addition to the ski pass, subscribers receive a 50% discount at selected hotels at all destinations with a stay from Sunday to Thursday. Further partnerships with ski schools and ski rental centres are currently under consideration. Excluded are the holidays between Christmas and the new year as well as the winter sports weeks in February. The season tickets will be available from 1 September 2017 at the usual sales points as well as on the online platforms of the four winter sports destinations. The hotels that can be booked in combination with the sport pass for a special price are presented there.
