At 1500 meters high, the sunny ski resort of Anzère sits half way up the famous Wildhorn. Anzère is a ski resort created on the drawing board. In 1965, most of the existing hotels and chalets were built from scratch. This means there is a colourful pedestrian zone in the center which is beautifully landscaped with many large chalet style buildings with restaurants and shops on the ground floor.
The slopes in Anzère are rather challenging here. Beginners be aware that there are hardly any blue runs here and the Les Masques run, a 5 kilometer long black run, is notorious in the area! The 40 kilometers of slopes are easily reached via ski lifts and many skiers like to cross into the nearby Crans Montana ski area to discover 160 kilometers of ski slopes on offer there! If you're looking for a thrill, then there is fantastic helicopter skiing or ski touring to be done on the Wildhorn (3247m).
