The ski resort Vrátna Free Time Zone is situated in the Malá Fatra National Park and is one of the four highest situated resorts in Slovakia.
Ski runs are located at altitudes up to 1520m. The total length of the ski runs are 14km, of which 12km are regularly groomed and 7km are covered with artificial snow. Runs of varying difficulties are localised in four locations: Paseky, Poludňový Grúň, Chleb and Príslop.
Transport of skiers is provided by cable car, 4-seater chairlift, 10 ski lifts and rope tow. On Paseky there is a separately enclosed children's park with adjustable belt. In addition to teaching skiing the children's ski school also offers babysitting. A great attraction for advanced skiers is the loose terrains above the forest zone in the area of Chleb and ski mountaineering trails. Less skilled visitors and non-skiers will appreciate the panoramic terrace at an altitude of 1490m.
The resort has a number of restaurants and snack bars, ski school, snowboard school and rental of sports equipment (skis, snowboards, ski mountaineering suits and snowshoes). Night skiing Slovan (moderately difficult, length 960m) and Školská (easy, length 355m) are the two ski runs with electric lights. Two ski lifts are operated for night skiing.
